These services
are available to students who are currently enrolled in University
of San Diego courses from off campus, and for those students
who are currently enrolled for thesis and dissertation credit
and are not residing in the Greater San Diego area.

This is the gateway to USD's online catalog (Sally), electronic databases,
internet resources, and information about Copley Library and its services and
resources.
SALLY(URL http://sally.sandiego.edu/)
SALLY is the online catalog of books, journal titles and nonprint media of
all University of San Diego Libraries (Copley Library & Legal Research
Center). The catalog includes many links to electronic journals and
databases.
Databases
and Web Resources
Copley Library subscribes to about 90 electronic databases including journal
abstracts and indexes; full text journals; and full text statistical, encyclopedic
and biographical reference resources.
Services
Provided
Book Requests
Master's
degree students may check out Copley Library books for
28 days.
Doctoral
students may check out Copley Library books for 120 days. Books
with this extended due date (120 days) may be recalled after
28 days for use by another library patron. If you receive
a recall notice, please note the NEW due date. Fines
will accrue from the new due date.
Copley Library
will check out and send books owned by Copley Library to you. Please
complete the Copley Library Book Request form. When
you return books to the library, send them in plenty of time
so they arrive at the library by the due date. You are
responsible for return postage.
Because of contractual loan restrictions and time restraints, you may not borrow
or have mailed to you, books owned by other libraries (e.g. SDCircuit and Interlibrary
Loan).
Distance learners
may not place holds on books, renew books, or recall books due
to time restraints. You must pay assessed fines for overdue
books ($1.00 per day per book). Borrowing privileges and
access to databases may be blocked due to excessive fines. For
additional explanation, look within "Access Services: Circulation..." on
the library's web page.
Journal
Article and ERIC Document Requests
For articles not included in one of the library's full text databases, Copley
Library will mail free photocopies of up to 25 journal articles and/or ERIC
Documents to you each semester, copyright law permitting.
Articles
from journals: The library
is able to photocopy and mail these articles to you. Please
complete the Copley Library Journal
Article Request form.
ERIC Documents are
stored as microfiche and the full-text of some may also be linked
to from the database. The library is able to print up to
25 pages of an ERIC Document and mail it to you. The library
cannot mail the microfiche. Please complete the ERIC
Document Request form.
You do not
need to return photocopies of articles or ERIC Documents.
