LIGHT READING COLLECTION

Across from the Reserve Desk is the light reading collection, also known as the McNaughton collection. This is a leased collection of books intended primarily for leisure reading. It contains many current works of fiction and nonfiction from The New York Times Best Seller List and popular authors. Books in the light reading collection are easy to identify by their cellophane-covered book jackets. Because these titles tend to be in high demand, only patrons holding University of San Diego identification cards may check them out for a four-week period. Because only USD students, faculty and staff may borrow these books, the titles do not appear in the Circuit database, but they do appear in SALLY, the library’s online catalog.
